WhatsApp users are in for an upgrade as Meta plans to integrate its social media apps. A new feature is set to arrive on WhatsApp, enabling users to directly use their Instagram or Facebook profile pictures as their WhatsApp DP. According to reports, this functionality has appeared in WhatsApp beta version 2.25.21.23. Some beta testers have already received the update, with a broader rollout anticipated in the following weeks.
Previously, WhatsApp users could only choose their profile picture from their camera, gallery, avatars, or AI-generated images. The update introduces two new options: Instagram and Facebook. To access this, users should navigate to WhatsApp profile settings and select ‘Edit Profile Picture.’ Users whose Meta accounts (WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook) are linked in the Meta Accounts Center can upload their DP directly from Instagram or Facebook onto WhatsApp. This is especially helpful for those who desire a consistent profile image across various social platforms. By using this new feature, users will be able to synchronize their profile pictures without any loss of quality, improving the user experience across WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.
