WhatsApp is continuously working on new features to enhance user interaction. Among the latest additions, scheduled calls have been introduced, enabling users to organize group calls in advance. Individuals and groups receive a notification just prior to the call commencing.
A voicemail feature is currently in development by the Meta-owned platform, which is expected to improve the user experience. This feature, found within the WhatsApp Android beta (v2.22.22.5), will enable users to review recorded messages and respond at their convenience. Similar functionality was previously rolled out by Apple on iPhones in India. This allows callers to record a brief audio message. The receiver is then able to respond later when it is convenient. WhatsApp’s voicemail system will follow a similar operational framework. Furthermore, a voice call reminder feature is also being developed, providing users the option to set reminders to return missed calls, with choices for 2 hours, 8 hours, 24 hours, and a custom setting for personalized scheduling.
