Users of Snapchat will now face charges for storing more than 5GB of content in the Memories feature. Launched in 2016, Snapchat initially offered free storage for photos and videos. The new policy requires users to subscribe to a plan to retain access to their saved content once the 5GB limit is reached. Snapchat has introduced a tiered system for storage plans. These include 100GB and 250GB options, accessible through a Snapchat+ monthly plan. Additionally, a Platinum plan offers 5TB of storage. The company says these plans are designed to support users’ long-term storage needs. Users will be given a 12-month grace period to download their content or opt for a paid subscription if they exceed the free storage limit.
The Snapchat storage plans are:
100GB storage plan: $1.99 per month.
Snapchat+ with 250GB storage: $3.99 per month.
