Seedream 4.0, the new image creation model from ByteDance’s Seed research team, combines text-to-image generation with image editing in a single system. This tool can accurately interpret knowledge-based prompts and maintain detail, allowing for precise edits like object removal, background changes, style application, and text addition. It leverages an advanced Mixture of Experts (MoE) framework, supporting up to 4K resolution images and generating 2K images in about 1.8 seconds, which is notably faster than Seedream 3.0. Conversely, Nano Banana, known for its realistic outputs, sometimes experiences accuracy issues with repeated edits. While both tools support edits via natural language, Seedream 4.0’s capacity to handle multiple reference images simultaneously offers a distinct advantage. The availability of Nano Banana in India and via apps like WhatsApp contrasts with Seedream 4.0’s limited accessibility, primarily in China.
