The competitive spirit between companies often manifests in playful jabs. The recent release of the iPhone 17 Series has prompted Samsung to take a lighthearted shot at Apple. While Samsung has firmly established itself in the foldable phone market, Apple has yet to launch a foldable phone, nor has it even hinted at such a device during its events. Following the launch of the new iPhone series, Samsung targeted Apple’s foldable phone strategy. Although the company refrained from directly naming Apple, their posts strongly alluded to it.
After the official launch of the iPhone 17 Series, Samsung reposted a 2022 post on the microblogging platform X. The 2022 post had stated, ‘Let us know when it folds.’
Samsung had already entered the foldable segment by 2022, and they re-shared this old post, commenting, ‘Can’t believe this is still relevant.’
The criticism didn’t stop there. Samsung also targeted Apple’s camera system, stating, “48MP x 3 still doesn’t equal 200MP.” Another post expressed surprise that users had to wait five years for the inclusion of a sleep score feature.
Reactions on X were varied. Many Apple fans defended their company in response to the Samsung posts.
One user suggested Samsung could improve their standing if it enhanced their video recording capabilities.
Some users argued that even 200MP doesn’t guarantee high-quality photos.
Some commenters also brought up the need for Samsung to address the green line issue that some of their phones have exhibited.
Apple launched the iPhone 17 Air. It’s the thinnest handset to date, only 5.6 millimeters thick. It’s even thinner than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge, which is 5.8 millimeters. The iPhone 17 Air goes on sale from September 19th, starting at ₹1,19,900 for the 256GB version. 512GB and 1TB options are also available.
