During his 125th Mann Ki Baat address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the Pratibha Setu Portal. He described it as a crucial platform designed to link UPSC aspirants who narrowly missed the final merit list with promising career prospects. He highlighted that the portal offers a new ray of hope for the numerous candidates who successfully navigated all phases of the challenging UPSC examination but did not achieve a place on the final merit list. The UPSC examination is recognized as one of the most difficult in the nation. Many candidates find themselves falling short of the final list by a small margin. This often necessitates repeated preparation, leading to a potential loss of time and financial resources. Platforms like Pratibha Setu are designed to ensure these talented students receive opportunities while preserving their dignity. The Pratibha Setu initiative is an enhanced version of the former Public Disclosure Scheme (2018). The portal currently hosts the profiles of over 10,000 candidates. The examinations include the Civil Services Examination (CSE), Indian Forest Service (IFoS), Engineering Services (IES), Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service (IES/ISS), Combined Medical Services, Combined Defence Services (CDS), and Combined Geo-Scientist Examination. The portal functions by allowing government and private entities to register. Upon verification, they are granted login credentials, enabling access to candidates’ qualifications, examination details, and contact information. This facilitates direct job offers from companies. The data is managed through a transparent and secure system. The key advantage of Pratibha Setu is providing opportunities to candidates who have passed all stages of the UPSC exams but weren’t selected for the final list, thereby benefiting the government, private sector, and the candidates involved.
