Production of the iPhone 17 has commenced at Foxconn’s Bengaluru factory. Apple and Foxconn did not respond to emails seeking comment on the matter. The iPhone 17 production was temporarily disrupted because hundreds of Chinese engineers had unexpectedly returned. However, Foxconn has addressed this shortage by recruiting experts from Taiwan and other locations.
Apple aims to increase iPhone production to six crore units this year, a significant rise from the approximately 3.5 to 4 crore units in the 2024-25 fiscal year. In the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, Apple assembled approximately $22 billion worth of iPhones in India, representing an increase of around 60%.
