xAI’s Grok Imagine, developed by Elon Musk, now includes a ‘Spicy Mode’ that is generating controversy. This new feature allows users to create adult content videos using text prompts, thereby extending the capabilities of generative AI. The ‘Spicy Mode’ is accessible to SuperGrok subscribers on the X (Twitter) iOS app, with a monthly fee of around 700 rupees. The tool can produce 15-second videos with adult visuals and audio, adding a new dimension to content creation. Although restrictions are in place, the AI has demonstrated the ability to generate content that evades these filters. Initial attention was brought to the feature through a now-removed X (Twitter) post by xAI employee Mati Roy, highlighting the AI’s potential for generating nudity. The tool uses text prompts to generate multiple images that can be animated into videos. Currently, the tool shows signs of the ‘uncanny valley’ effect, making human faces appear unnatural.
