Enthusiasm is building for Ghost of Yotei, the forthcoming sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. Created by Sucker Punch, the game offers players an open-world adventure centered around themes of revenge set in the era of feudal Japan. Players step into the shoes of Atsu, a mercenary seeking revenge against the Yōtei Six, who murdered her family. To exact her vengeance, Atsu will embody the persona of the “Ghost.”
Gameplay will immerse players in the environment of Ezo, set in the 1600s. Atsu’s journey will include exploration of diverse environments, from tranquil hot springs to dense forests and snow-capped mountains. The open-world structure of the game allows players to choose the order in which they confront the Yōtei Six, facilitating a non-linear gaming experience.
Ghost of Yotei will continue the action combat gameplay of the original, incorporating new mechanics and weapons for added depth. Players can utilize dual katanas, the formidable odachi, and a grappling hook to navigate the environment, including climbing cliffs and traversing fallen obstacles.
The game is scheduled to be released on Thursday, October 2, at midnight for players in most regions, based on their local time zones. In the United States, the game will launch at midnight on the East Coast.
Ghost of Yotei will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5, with no plans for release on platforms like Nintendo or Xbox. The game is set to launch on the PS5 on October 2, 2025. A PC release is likely to follow, mirroring the timeline of the original Ghost of Tsushima. The Standard Edition of Ghost of Yotei is priced at Rs 4,999 on the PlayStation Store, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is available for Rs 5,599.
