Windows 11 users are in line for a significant upgrade as Microsoft prepares to launch several AI-driven features through Copilot. Among these is the Copilot Vision tool, designed to analyze and interpret the content visible on a user’s screen, eliminating the need for external tools for tasks like documenting bills.
The new features are set to be released gradually to all Windows 11 users, with some features tailored specifically for Copilot Plus personal computers. With Copilot Vision, users can interact with the AI by asking questions about the information on their screen, including across multiple apps and web pages, as well as request assistance with various PC tasks, like optimizing picture lighting.
According to Microsoft, recent findings show that a majority of users are already integrating generative AI into their routines. Nearly 60% of people use AI for professional and business applications, while 64% employ it for personal hobbies such as art and music. Microsoft aims to simplify user experiences by embedding AI into daily PC use. Owners of Snapdragon-powered Copilot Plus PCs will be able to access the AI agent via the Settings app.
Another new feature will be the “Click to Do” preview. This allows Copilot Plus users to summarize text, improve reading, and perform other actions via a simple click-and-hold function. Further enhancements include an AI sticker generator for Paint, tools for object selection and editing in images, an AI lighting option for Photos, and an AI-powered screenshot tool. These updates are scheduled for release in August, along with non-AI features like a color picker for the Snipping Tool, as well as a system intended to resolve problems that trigger unexpected restarts.
