Concerns about the battery performance of the new ultra-thin iPhone have been circulating, with industry observers questioning its endurance. The design of the new iPhone Air inherently limits battery size compared to some competitors. Tim Cook, during his visit to the Corning factory, spoke on the battery life of the upcoming iPhone Air. Cook participated in interviews with CNBC’s Jim Cramer, discussing recent Apple product introductions and the company’s investments in Corning. During the interview, Cook showcased the iPhone 17 Pro, the iPhone Air, and the new AirPods live translation feature. When the subject of battery life came up, Cook responded: ‘The battery life is great. You’re going to love the battery life. (…) We engineered it from the inside out. It’s eSIM-only. And so we were able to take the battery and extend the battery to areas that previously had the physical SIM. And so, it’s incredible innovation.’ Cook also discussed Apple’s commitment to domestic manufacturing, highlighting a significant investment in Corning, transforming its Harrodsburg plant into a dedicated glass production center for iPhones and Apple Watches. This is part of the American Manufacturing Program, which will see $600 billion dedicated to initiatives over the next four years.
