Apple is reportedly working on a significant enhancement to its search capabilities to coincide with the launch of the iPhone 17 Series. The company is looking to make strides in artificial intelligence and is secretly working on a competitor to ChatGPT. A report from Bloomberg indicates that Apple has formed a team called Answer, Knowledge, and Information to develop an AI chatbot that can effectively respond to all user questions.
This move is noteworthy, given that senior Apple executives have previously expressed reservations about the necessity of chatbot-style AI. However, the company is now focused on expanding its AI strategy beyond its current Apple Intelligence platform, which largely provides features such as Genmoji, notification summaries, and writing suggestions. The current Apple Intelligence platform has failed to meet user expectations, particularly because of delays in Siri’s significant upgrades.
