Apple has made its first price increase for the iPhone Pro models in seven years. The new series is available, but certain models have seen price adjustments. Notably, the iPhone Air, which replaces the Plus variant, also has a higher price tag than its predecessor.
The iPhone 17 Pro now starts at $1099 (roughly ₹97,002), a $100 increase compared to the $999 (about ₹88,175) starting price of the iPhone 16 Pro. The new price point provides consumers with 256GB of storage, double the 128GB offered by the previous generation.
Apple also introduced the iPhone Air, replacing the Plus model. This new model is priced at $999 (approximately ₹88,175), $100 more than the Plus model. Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Chief Marketing Officer, highlighted the increased entry-level storage across the entire iPhone 17 series.
The price adjustments were anticipated by industry analysts and investors. Apple faced over $1 billion in tariff costs this quarter. The company is moving production from China to India, which impacts product pricing. Even with the increased prices of the Pro and Air models, the standard iPhone 17 remains priced at $799 (approximately ₹70,522).
