Airtel has introduced changes to its prepaid offerings, specifically impacting the Rs 195 plan. Following the earlier discontinuation of the Rs 249 plan, the Rs 195 plan now provides a reduced data allowance. Originally offering 15GB of high-speed data, this plan now provides 12GB. In addition to data reductions, the validity of the Jio Hotstar OTT benefit has been shortened from 90 days to 30 days. This impacts users who rely on this plan for additional data. The changes reflect the company’s strategy to increase ARPU, with a goal of reaching Rs 300, starting from Rs 250. The Rs 249 prepaid plan, which provided 1GB of daily high-speed data, along with 100 SMS per day, free Extreme Play, and free Hellotunes for 24 days, has been replaced with the Rs 299 plan as the only viable option.
