Surajpur: Joint quarterly meeting of district level child protection unit held at Collectorate concludesJuly 4, 2020
Today in the presence of District Collector, District Level Child Protection Committee, District Level Advisory & Inspection Committee and District Level Monitoring Committee in the District Collectorate Office in the presence of Collector Shri Ranbir Sharma and Additional Superintendent of Police Shri Harish Rathore Was called At the meeting, Collector Shri Ranbir Sharma instructed the officers to resolve the cases with sensitivity in order to protect the child and the girl child.
The District Program Officer informed the members, district officials present in the meeting about the work obligations of the Child Welfare Committee and the current status of the cases, pending and status of the cases presented. The cases sent by the Child Welfare Committee to other institutions from the district were placed before the committee. Informing the members about the pending cases presented in the Board of Justice Justice, they were instructed for early disposal of the pending cases. He asked the Center to disseminate the videos and learning materials made on child protection among children.
The District Child Protection Committee was informed that quarterly review of the works of Child Welfare Committee and Juvenile Justice Board has been submitted to the District Magistrate. Children in need of care and protection are being entered on regular technical portal. The district level committee was informed that so far in the year 2019, 60 child marriages have been prevented and a preliminary notice has been filed in 01 cases. Till June 30 of the year 2020, 23 child marriages have been stopped through understanding. And action is being taken to register an FIR in 01 case. Training by restructuring Panchayat level Child Protection Committee, Nagar Panchayat Level Child Protection Committee, Ward Level Child Protection Committee in all Gram Panchayats of the district by the District Child Protection Unit Awareness program has been directed to be conducted. The Collector has given the Special Assistant Commissioner, Tribal Welfare Department, to ensure the deployment of women home guards in all girls’ ashrams / hostels in the district. Also, Child Help Line No. 1098 has been instructed to mark the walls of all the ashrams / hostels and schools. The Collector was instructed to take action on receipt of information of child marriage by the joint team in respect of child marriage in the district.
Chief Medical and Health Officer, Deputy Director Social Welfare Department, District Education Officer, Labor Officer, District Program Officer, Women and Child Development Department and other officials of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
