Northamptonshire County Cricket Club has secured the services of Yuzvendra Chahal for the 2026 season. The club announced the agreement, expressing their delight at welcoming back the Indian spinner. After successful performances in 2024 and 2025, Chahal will be back in action for Northamptonshire in the One-Day Cup and County Championship. In his previous stints in the County Championship, Chahal took 31 wickets. Northamptonshire anticipates a boost to their next season’s campaign with the addition of Chahal, who has a record of 217 wickets for India in his international career. Chahal shared his happiness at the prospect of playing for Northamptonshire again, calling it his second home and expressing his eagerness to contribute to the team’s success. Head Coach David Ripley also welcomed Chahal’s return, noting his value to the team and his impressive statistics. Chahal last played for India in August 2023. He maintains a strong presence in the IPL. He has a strong record in white-ball cricket with 121 wickets in 72 ODIs and 96 wickets in 80 T20s.
