A YouTuber named Wasim Akram has been arrested in Haryana, facing allegations of spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Pakistan High Commission. Akram, a resident of Kot village in the Palwal district, created content focused on the history of Mewat on his YouTube channel. The arrest occurred on Wednesday. According to police, Akram had been in contact with Pakistani agents for the past three years and is suspected of providing them with SIM cards. Furthermore, investigators have recovered potentially damaging WhatsApp messages from his phone, including deleted ones that are currently being analyzed by the cyber cell. The information that led to Akram’s arrest came from Taufiq, who was apprehended by the Palwal police last week on similar charges. Details gathered during the investigation suggest that Akram had links to Pakistan, which were established when he applied for a visa to Islamabad back in 2021.
