Wellalage’s father had a heart attack during the Sri Lanka vs. Afghanistan match. According to reports, the heart attack occurred after witnessing his son’s performance. In the last over of the Afghanistan innings, Mohammad Nabi hit five sixes off Wellalage’s bowling. Despite the distressing circumstances, Sri Lanka won the match by six wickets, knocking Afghanistan out of the Asia Cup.
