Mohammed Siraj, a key figure in India’s victory at the Oval Test, is set to receive a financial bonus from the BCCI. Siraj’s outstanding performance, marked by nine wickets in the match, including five in the second innings, was crucial in securing the win. His bowling performance restricted England, leading to a narrow victory for India. The BCCI compensates players selected in the playing 11 for each Test match with a fee of 15 lakh rupees. Siraj will receive this fee for the Oval Test. Furthermore, he will also get an additional 5 lakh rupees from the BCCI due to his exceptional performance. According to a BCCI rule, bowlers who take five or more wickets in an innings are awarded a bonus of 5 lakh rupees on top of their match fee. Siraj earned this bonus by taking five wickets in the second innings. His outstanding performance also earned him the Player of the Match award at the Oval Test. It’s worth noting that unlike in India, there’s no monetary reward for the Player of the Match in England; players receive a trophy and a check in India, but not in England.
