Making his return to the court after his triumph over Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon, Sinner exhibited impressive form on the hard courts. Demonstrating no signs of slowing down, he seamlessly adapted from grass to hard court, utilizing precise ball-striking and aggressive baseline play.
Sinner’s dominance was evident from the start, as he quickly established a 5-0 lead in the first set, putting immense pressure on Galan, who is ranked No. 144 globally. The 23-year-old carried his momentum into the second set, securing a break and finishing with three aces, thereby achieving the fastest victory of his ATP Tour career.
In his post-match interview, Sinner reflected on the match, acknowledging the difficulty of playing in Cincinnati while highlighting his success. He expressed, “I didn’t know what to expect. I am happy because it’s not easy to play here. The ball is flying, and you have to serve very precisely if you want to go far in the tournament.”
