Jannik Sinner, the reigning champion, is gearing up to battle Carlos Alcaraz in the US Open 2025 final. Sinner, who is making his fifth Grand Slam final appearance, labeled the match as “special.” His journey to the final included a victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime, with the final score reading 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, and 6-4. Sinner is vying for his fifth major title.
“I think five straight Grand Slam finals, it’s something great. The consistency and putting myself there in the later stages of the biggest tournaments we have, it’s amazing,” Sinner stated. He continued, “I would have never thought that I would make this when I turned pro, and now I find myself here.”
Sinner also shared his thoughts on facing Alcaraz, noting, “On court we like to see each other, you know, because it means that considering our ranking, it means that we are doing well in the tournament.” Looking ahead to the final, Sinner added, “Sunday is a very special day and an amazing final again. I feel like our rivalry started here playing an amazing match. We are two different players now, with different confidence too.” The upcoming match is particularly significant as Sinner’s world No. 1 ranking will also be challenged.
Sinner’s previous achievements include winning the Australian Open and Wimbledon titles. However, he experienced a loss at the French Open. This US Open final marks the second time the two players will meet at the tournament, with Alcaraz winning their 2022 quarter-final match.
