Prithvi Shaw, the Mumbai opener, is set to leave the Mumbai cricket team. He has formally requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), allowing him to play domestic cricket for another state. The young batsman cited a desire for enhanced development as the primary reason for this change.
Shaw’s letter to the MCA outlined his intention to play professional cricket elsewhere. He believes this opportunity will aid in his progress. The MCA Secretary, Abhay Hadap, confirmed the receipt of the NOC request and stated that the certificate would be issued shortly. Shaw’s last appearance for Mumbai was on December 24.
Shaw also conveyed his appreciation to the MCA for their support throughout his career. In his international career for India, Shaw has played 5 Tests, scoring 339 runs with a century and two half-centuries. He has also played 6 ODIs and one T20I.
