Kieron Pollard’s recent form continues to shine as he blasted his way to the fastest half-century in CPL history. This impressive performance mirrors his equally rapid half-century in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Pollard’s aggressive batting has not only broken his personal CPL record but also tied his previous fastest fifty in IPL.
The 38-year-old Pollard achieved this milestone while playing for the Trinbago Knight Riders against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. He entered the game at number six and dominated the innings, setting a new benchmark for speed. Pollard’s stunning half-century in the CPL was accomplished in just 17 balls, featuring five sixes. Before this, his quickest half-century in the CPL was in 18 balls, back in 2018. This accomplishment places him third in the list of fastest half-centuries in the CPL, following Andre Russell (14 balls) and JP Duminy (15 balls).
Pollard’s remarkable innings of 18 balls against Guyana Amazon Warriors saw him score 54 runs at an impressive strike rate of 300. This includes 5 sixes and 5 fours, leading Trinbago Knight Riders to score 167 runs in 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process.
