    Paris Paralympics 2024: India gets 5th medal, Rubina Francis wins bronze medal in shooting

    Paris Paralympics: India has won another medal in Paris Paralympics. The country’s daughter Rubina Francis has won the bronze medal in shooting. In this way, India has received 5 medals in Paralympics so far. Out of these, 4 have been received in shooting and one in athletics.

    Para shooter Rubina Francis won the bronze medal in the final of the 10m air pistol SH1 event. Rubina secured third place in the 8-woman final with a total score of 211.1. This is India’s fourth medal in shooting and fifth overall at the Paris Paralympics.

    Earlier in the Paris Paralympics, shooter Avni Lekhara won gold, Mona Agarwal won bronze and Manish Narwal won silver medal.

    Rubina Francis hails from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh and is the daughter of a mechanic. Rubina holds the world record in the 10m air pistol event at the Para World Cup Shooting in Lima, Peru. In 2017, she set a junior world record by winning the gold medal in the 10m air pistol women’s team event at the World Shooting Para Sports Championship in Bangkok. She won a bronze medal at the 2019 World Para Championship in Croatia.
