The upcoming India vs. Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2025, a Super-4 encounter, has been preceded by a controversial decision: the Pakistan team’s cancellation of their press conference. This move has intensified the atmosphere surrounding the match, leading to speculation about the team’s reluctance to address certain questions. Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB and ACC Chairman, provided a brief response to the matter. Naqvi was observed engaging with the Pakistan team before the match, holding discussions with coach Mike Hesson and captain Salman Ali Agha, and offering encouragement to the players. The outcome of these interactions, and their potential effect on the team’s performance, would be revealed during their match against India. Naqvi’s statement regarding the press conference boycott offered little clarity. This boycott comes after Pakistan previously demanded the removal of the match referee, Andy Pycroft, after their defeat by India in the group stage and threatened a boycott of the subsequent match against the UAE. Despite this, they eventually participated in the game, but now, have boycotted another press conference.
