Ngidi’s Inclusion Highlights South Africa’s WTC Finals Lineup Against Australia

South Africa has revealed its playing XI for the WTC Finals against Australia at Lord’s. The team will be captained by Temba Bavuma. Lungi Ngidi has been selected, joining Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen in the pace attack. This choice is notable because Dane Paterson, usually a regular in the Proteas lineup, was excluded. Ngidi’s last Test appearance was in 2024 against the West Indies. Concerns have been raised about the selection of Ngidi over Paterson. Additionally, there’s discussion about whether Keshav Maharaj should be in the team and if Tristan Stubbs was the right choice ahead of Tony de Zorzi.

    The Playing XI includes: 1. Markram 2. Rickelton 3. Mulder 4. Bavuma 5. Stubbs 6. Bedingham 7. Verreynne 8. Jansen 9. Maharaj 10. Rabada 11. Ngidi.
