The West Delhi Lions emerged victorious in the Delhi Premier League, defeating the Central Delhi Kings by six wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on August 31st.
Central Delhi Kings, after being asked to bat first, scored 173/7 in their 20 overs. Yugal Saini’s innings of 65 provided a solid foundation. Pranshu Vijayran’s quickfire 50* off 24 balls added crucial runs for CDK.
Manan Bhardwaj and Shivank Vashisht each took two wickets for West Delhi, keeping the run rate under control.
West Delhi Lions faced early trouble in their chase, losing three wickets early on. Nitish Rana then took charge, scoring a masterful 79 off 49 balls. He was instrumental in guiding West Delhi to their target of 174/4 in 18 overs.
Hrithik Shokeen also contributed with an unbeaten 42, supporting Rana in their successful chase.
