He believes that Mumbai Indians (MI) have the upper hand in their Qualifier 2 match against Punjab Kings (PBKS), citing their current momentum and formidable bowling strength. He also expressed support for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), hoping they secure their first IPL title, especially for Virat Kohli.
Karim observed that MI’s strong gameplay and bowling make them dominant. While PBKS led the league stage, they suffered a significant defeat against RCB. MI, on the other hand, performed well in the eliminator against Gujarat Titans (GT), successfully defending a high score.
Karim also acknowledged Virat Kohli’s outstanding performance this season, expressing his desire for RCB to win the IPL. Kohli has maintained an impressive average and strike rate.
Additionally, Karim discussed India’s upcoming tour of England, highlighting the opportunity for the new-look, young side led by Shubman Gill. He spoke about the depth of talent within the team and the chance for young players to shine.
Karim further lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s support for young cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi, recognizing Suryavanshi’s exceptional talent and impact in the IPL, including his record-breaking century.
