The upcoming Asia Cup, starting September 9th, is already generating buzz. A focal point of discussion is the watch worn by Hardik Pandya. The value of Pandya’s watch has become a topic of interest, primarily because its price is higher than the combined annual salaries of the 17 Pakistani players chosen to compete in the Asia Cup. The watch garnered attention when Pandya wore it during a practice session in Dubai.
The question arises: How much does Hardik Pandya’s watch cost? And, even more intriguingly, what are the annual salaries of the Pakistani players selected for the Asia Cup, and could they collectively afford the watch? Let’s begin by looking at the salaries of the Pakistani players.
Seven Pakistani players fall under Grade B, including Abrar Ahmed, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Sam Ayub, Salman Agha, and Shaheen Afridi. Each player in this category has an annual salary of 16.92 million Indian rupees. Therefore, the combined annual salary for these seven players is 118.31 million Indian rupees.
Five Pakistani players are in Grade C, comprising Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Nawaz, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Nawaz, and Sahibzada Farhan. Their annual salary is 9.39 million Indian rupees each, amounting to 46.95 million Indian rupees for the group.
Lastly, the remaining five players are in Grade D, with each receiving 5.63 million Indian rupees annually. The total annual salary for these five players is 28.17 million Indian rupees.
Adding up the yearly salaries of all 17 Pakistani players selected for the Asia Cup results in a total of 193.4 million Indian rupees. However, this sum is less than the market price of Hardik Pandya’s watch, which is estimated to be worth 200 million Indian rupees. During practice in Dubai, Hardik Pandya was seen wearing a Richard Mille RM 27-04 watch.
