The Landmark Hotel in Kanpur, the accommodation for the Australian team, is the focus of the investigation as they provided the food. The food department has initiated an investigation by collecting samples from the hotel.
Rajeev Shukla mentioned that the Landmark Hotel is a reputable establishment and that if the food had been the cause, more players would likely have been affected. He speculated that the illness might have originated elsewhere. The hotel management has proposed that the change in weather could be the cause of the players’ sickness rather than the food.
