The Sharjah Warriors have announced a major addition to their squad for the upcoming ILT20 season in Dubai. Veteran Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik will be joining the team as a player, replacing Kusal Mendis. Karthik, known for his extensive T20 experience, previously served as the batting coach for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who clinched their first IPL title in 2025.
Karthik’s presence in the Warriors will add significant experience, given his long and successful T20 career. He played a key role in the Mumbai Indians’ IPL victory in 2013 and was also part of the Indian team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. In the 2025 IPL season, Karthik worked with Tim David, who is now part of the Sharjah Warriors squad.
This move marks a transition for Karthik, who retired from all formats of Indian cricket in June 2024 but continues to be active in various T20 leagues. His addition to the Sharjah Warriors brings both experience and a winning pedigree to the team.
