The Big Bash League (BBL) has revealed the schedule for its 15th season. The season will commence on December 14, 2025, with a match between the Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers at Perth’s Optus Stadium. Hobart Hurricanes, the current champions, will compete against Sydney Thunder on December 16. The schedule has been adjusted to potentially accommodate Australia’s Test stars, due to a two-week gap following the fifth Ashes Test finishing on January 8. This allows for a possible return of players for the end of the regular season and the finals. Their participation hinges on recovery and clearance from Cricket Australia. Alistair Dobson, Head of BBL Leagues, expressed confidence in the upcoming season, highlighting the uninterrupted run of matches from mid-December to the end of January. The revised schedule includes home games for all teams in the final week of the regular season, which increases the likelihood of Test players participating. Nathan Lyon could potentially make his BBL debut, while the participation of players such as Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc remains uncertain due to their uncontracted status for the 2025–26 season.
