Virat Kohli has gained ground in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings, ascending to the fifth position. This climb is largely attributed to the recent struggles of Pakistan’s star batter, Babar Azam. Azam slipped from fifth to seventh in the latest rankings after failing to register a score of 30 or more in his last three ODI outings against South Africa and Sri Lanka. His performance yielded 709 rating points, a drop of 19 points.
Kohli, who has accumulated 725 rating points, now occupies the fifth spot. Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka is positioned just below him at sixth. Kohli is slated to return to action on November 30th for India’s ODI series against South Africa.
At the summit of the ODI batting rankings, Rohit Sharma remains firmly in place. The Indian skipper boasts 781 rating points, solidifying his status as the world’s number one ODI batter. Sharma recently secured the player of the series award during India’s tour of Australia.
Among ODI bowlers, Rashid Khan continues to lead with 710 points. Jofra Archer of England has surged to second place, impacting Keshav Maharaj’s ranking. Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav is the sole Indian bowler in the top 10, holding the sixth position with 634 rating points.
