Virat Kohli, the former captain and celebrated batsman of the Indian cricket team, continues to be a hot topic in the news, even during his break from the sport. Whether it’s his social media activity or discussions about his career, Kohli consistently generates headlines. The recent focus is on a response from TV actress and social media influencer, Avneet Kaur, concerning a past incident.
The incident in question involved a ‘like’ on Instagram. During the IPL 2025 season, when Kohli was playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, a like appeared on Avneet Kaur’s photo from Kohli’s official Instagram account. Given Kohli’s massive follower base, the action quickly gained attention and went viral across platforms like Instagram and X.
Kohli later attributed the like to an Instagram algorithm error, claiming he did not personally like the photo. This explanation was not widely accepted, but the issue eventually faded. Now, after four months, Avneet Kaur has commented on the situation. During a promotional event for her upcoming film, ‘Love in Vietnam,’ she was asked about Kohli’s Instagram ‘like.’ Her response was a brief, yet telling, “May love continue…” without directly referencing Kohli.
As for Kohli’s return to cricket, fans eagerly await his comeback. He’s anticipated to rejoin the Indian team during their Australia tour in October, which includes a series of three ODI matches. In the meantime, Avneet Kaur is focused on the promotion of her film, ‘Love in Vietnam,’ where she stars alongside Shantanu Maheshwari, scheduled for release on September 12th.
