Australia’s preparations for the Women’s ODI World Cup have been disrupted by the withdrawal of Grace Harris due to injury. The all-rounder was injured in the third ODI against India and will not be fit to play in the tournament. Heather Graham will replace Harris in the Australian team. Graham’s experience at the international level is limited, having played only a single ODI match to date.
Grace Harris, known for her contributions with both bat and ball, has a modest ODI record, with 16 runs and 12 wickets from 12 matches. In the recent series in India, she played in one match and took a single wicket. The injury sustained in that match rules her out of the World Cup. Heather Graham, also an all-rounder, made her ODI debut for Australia in 2019. Her debut match was against Sri Lanka, where she scored 4 runs and took 1 wicket.
The Women’s ODI World Cup is scheduled to commence on September 30th. The opening match will feature India against Sri Lanka. Australia will play their first match on October 1st against New Zealand. Australia recently won a 3-match ODI series against India 2-1.
