The district police has taken action against gambling and liquor smuggling. The police station in Sarangarh section is seen in action in Barmakela and Kosir area. The team of Barmkela police station incharge Chaman Sinha caught the liquor smugglers. The team received input that a van from Odisha was carrying liquor. A van was stopped at the blockade near Jhankpur Chowk. Its driver Dilip Chauhan was questioned. On searching, 11 boxes of Kingfisher Strong beer and 3 boxes of McDonald’s number one English liquor were found. During the lockdown in Sarangarh area there was a preparation to consume this liquor.
The Kosir police raided gambling gambling. From here Hori Lal Sahu, Gaurav Dubey, Dinesh Bhardwaj, Kanti Sharan Thakur, Chaitan Bhardwaj, Gyan Mohan Tamboli, Prahlad Agarwal were captured. 43,350 cash and 5 bikes were recovered from this gang.
