Guwahati. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a phone conversation with Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and reviewed the current situation of Kovid-19 and floods in the state . At the same time, the Prime Minister also assured the state of full assistance to deal with floods and Kovid-19. The Prime Minister’s Office tweeted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved a grant of Rs 2 lakh each to the family of those who lost their lives due to floods in Assam . This amount will be given from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
At the same time, according to an official statement released in Guwahati, Modi said that the Center stands shoulder to shoulder with the efforts of the Government of Assam to deal with the challenging situation. Meanwhile, Sonowal informed the Prime Minister of the severe flood situation in the state, due to which 35 people have died till Friday. He also informed about the damage done to crops due to floods and the impact on normal life. He was also informed about the floods in many districts.
At the same time, Sonowal told the Prime Minister about the situation of Kovid-19 in the state that cases of Corona virus infection are increasing, but the state government is fully prepared to provide all possible health services to the people. A total of 9,434 cases of infection have been reported in Assam till Friday, of which 6,106 patients have been cured.
