Panel formed to investigate against 3 trusts of Gandhi family

New Delhi:The government on Wednesday constituted a panel to coordinate investigations into the alleged violations of various laws, including money laundering by 3 trusts belonging to the Nehru-Gandhi family, including the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. According to a spokesperson of the Union Home Ministry, this inter-ministerial team will be headed by a special director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The spokesperson tweeted, ‘Union Home Ministry violated various legal provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), Income Tax Law, Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) by Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust, Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust.
