Chhattisgarh Power Distribution Company is not going for any power cut in the state. Only due to technical reasons, sometime regulation is done between demand and supply of power and that was why power supply is stopped in the state, barring the Naxal infested areas.

This was stated  by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in a written reply to a query from former chief minister and BJP legislator Raman Singh in the state assembly on Friday.

Singh wanted to know whether the power company had decided on any fixed hour or duration for the power cut in the state. Answering to the query, the Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of power ministry,  informed that those 11 KV feeders which supply power for irrigation pumps stops power supply in between 5.00 in the evening to 11.00 in the night in order to balance the demand and supply of power.

To another query, the CM informed that in between the period of April 1, 2018 and June 15, 2019 power production of 1.698 Lakh million unit was recorded in the state. This was 98.99% of the total capacity, he informed.
