A cabinet meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, concluded today with several significant decisions. The meeting, held at the Mahanadi Bhawan in Raipur, saw the approval of key initiatives focused on farmers’ welfare and infrastructural development.
A notable decision involved revising and expanding the Krushak Unnati Yojana. The scheme will now extend its benefits to farmers who opt to cultivate pulses, oilseeds, or maize in place of paddy during the Kharif 2025 season. This expansion complements the existing support for paddy farmers.
Furthermore, farmers registered in Kharif 2024 who sold paddy at the minimum support price and transition to growing alternative crops like pulses, oilseeds, or maize in Kharif 2025 will also be eligible for financial assistance under the Krushak Unnati Yojana.
The cabinet also greenlit the Chhattisgarh Pension Fund Formation and Management and Regulation Bill-2025, aiming to bolster the financial management of pension liabilities for government employees upon retirement.
For long-term economic growth and fiscal stability, the Chhattisgarh Growth and Stability Fund Formation and Management and Regulation Bill-2025 was approved. This fund will manage fluctuations in state revenue and provide financial security during economic downturns.
Another key approval was the Chhattisgarh State Logistics Policy-2025, designed to foster comprehensive development in the state’s logistics sector. The policy aims to establish Chhattisgarh as a logistics hub and strengthen export infrastructure.
The policy seeks to attract investment from national and multinational logistics and e-commerce companies to set up logistics hubs, capitalizing on the state’s geographic advantages. Increased storage capacity will benefit industries, traders, and farmers by providing affordable storage solutions, ultimately boosting trade, investment, and overall economic growth.
In addition, the policy promotes the establishment of dry ports and inland container depots to give micro, small, and medium enterprises and local producers access to export markets. It will also foster an ecosystem for exporting forest resources, produce, and medicinal plants, while generating new employment opportunities and establishing the state as a leader in logistics and exports.
The cabinet also approved the Chhattisgarh Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill-2025, which aims to decriminalize certain provisions of state laws, thus simplifying business and reducing legal burdens.
Additionally, the cabinet approved seven redevelopment schemes targeting dilapidated government buildings and underutilized land across various departments and corporations, with projects set for locations like Shanti Nagar Raipur, BTI Shankar Nagar Raipur, and others.
Finally, the cabinet sanctioned a reduction in the minimum qualifying service from 5 years to 2 years, on a one-time basis, for the promotion of Upper Class Registration Clerks/Record Keepers to the post of Third Class Executive Sub-Registrar.
