Pakistan News: The troubles of former Pakistan PM Imran Khan have increased once again. In fact, a special court of Pakistan today i.e. on Tuesday has extended the judicial custody of former Prime Minister Imran Khan for 14 more days in the cipher case. With this, the possibility of his early release has also reduced. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chief Imran Khan was arrested in March last year in violation of the Official Secrets Act. He is accused of violating the confidentiality of the official document (cipher) sent by the Pakistan Embassy in America.

Judicial custody increased for the third time
This is the third time that Imran Khan’s judicial custody has been extended. His last 14-day detention period ended today. Special court judge Abul Hasnat Zulkarnain conducted the hearing in the district jail Attock. Imran Khan has been detained in this jail since August 5 after being convicted in the Toshakhana case. After the hearing, the court extended his judicial custody till October 10 to complete the investigation.

The court also extended the custody of former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi for the same period. Qureshi also faces charges under the same Act. However, the Islamabad High Court on Monday ordered the authorities to transfer Imran to Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, but no action has been taken yet. Earlier, the authorities had given permission to hear the case in jail citing security reasons.
