A case of murder of a BJP leader has come to light in Kurud assembly constituency of Dhamtari district amid the turmoil over the assembly elections to be held in Chhattisgarh. The news of the murder on Sunday morning has created a stir in political circles. The deceased BJP leader was the son of a former Kurud MLA. After the incident, BJP workers demonstrated outside Kurud police station shouting slogans. Kurud assembly constituency is the constituency of BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar. This time also Ajay Chandrakar is contesting the elections here on BJP ticket. The MLA is talking about murder under police protection. Dhamtari police is investigating the matter.
According to the information received, a BJP leader was murdered in Maraud village of Dhamtari on Sunday. 8 to 10 people armed with rods and sticks entered the house of BJP leader Chandrashekhar Giri Goswami in the morning and attacked him. His wife, who came to intervene, was also beaten with sticks. The injured husband and wife were referred to Dhamtari DCH Hospital, but Chandrashekhar Giri Goswami died on the way before reaching the hospital. The injured wife of the deceased is undergoing treatment in the hospital. Senior police officers have reached Kurud police station and are investigating. Let us tell you that Chandrashekhar Giri Goswami who was murdered is the son of former MLA Somgiri Goswami.
MLA said- SP, police officers should be removed
MLA Ajay Chandrakar wrote on social media Even before this, there had been a fatal attack on him, but the police had not arrested those attackers till date, they kept showing off their cars. There may be more murders under police protection in the upcoming elections. For fair elections, all the police stations of SP, SDOP and Kurud assembly should be removed and all the booths should be declared as highly sensitive.
The wife of the deceased made serious allegations against the police
After the news of the murder, senior officers of the police department have reached Kurud police station. Information about the entire matter is being taken from the police station staff. The injured wife of the deceased, Archana Goswami, has made many serious allegations against the police. It has been said that repeatedly asking for money in the name of FIR, not taking proper action on complaint, not even filing FIR if money is not given. The police is saying that the reason for this murder was a family dispute.
