The case of high profile theft of jewelery worth Rs 25 crore that took place in a jewelery shop in Jangpura area of ​​south-east Delhi has now almost been solved. Delhi Police has detained a person from Chhattisgarh in this case. The accused has been identified as Lokesh Srinivas. Police is interrogating him.

Apart from gold, police have also recovered cash and other jewelery from Lokesh Shriwas. Durg police has detained Lokesh from Kohka. This gold and cash recovered from Lokesh is said to be related to the theft of Rs 25 crore in Delhi. Bilaspur and Rajnandgaon police were also searching for Lokesh for a long time. Even before this, Durg Police had succeeded in arresting Lokesh Srinivas along with 100% of the goods in the case of theft at Parakh Jewelers in Akashganga. At present, Durg police is interrogating Lokesh in another case.

Thieves entered the showroom by cutting the roof

Let us tell you that, three unknown people had created a sensation by stealing jewelery worth about Rs 25 crore from a big jewelery showroom named Umrao Singh Jewelers located in Bhogal area of ​​Delhi. The thieves entered the showroom by cutting the roof of the showroom and then broke into the wall of the strong room and escaped with gold and diamond jewelery worth crores. The showroom owner came to know about this theft incident on Tuesday morning.

While giving information about this on Tuesday, the police had said that this incident is one of the biggest incidents of theft in recent times in the capital Delhi. Police said the shop remains closed on Mondays and the incident is likely to have taken place between Sunday night and Monday.

The showroom owner came to know about the incident when he closed the shop at around 8 pm on Sunday night and opened the shop at around 10.30 am on Tuesday morning. The shop has a safe on the ground floor, with a heavy metal gate and walls on three sides. Transactions with customers take place on the ground floor of the showroom itself, while its upper three floors are used for storerooms and other jewelery related functions.

According to the DCP, the shop owner has reported the theft of 30 kg of gold jewelery and Rs 5 lakh in cash. He said that a case has been registered in Hazrat Nizamuddin police station regarding this incident and several teams have been formed to solve the case. Shop owner Mahavir Prasad Jain told that his showroom is about 75 years old.
