Social Welfare Minister and Chairman Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Mrs. Anila Bhendiya today reviewed the preparations for fifth International Yoga Day to be organized on June 21, 2019, in a meeting held at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhavan). Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Officials informed that this year, the target is to motivate nearly 60 lakh people to participate in the event. Last year, 59 lakh 89 thousand 364 people had participated in the group demonstration of Yoga, setting a record that got included in Golden Book of World Records.
Officials informed that necessary guidelines will be issued to District Collectors to ensure that maximum number of people get to participate in the event. Officials informed that the main event of International Yoga Day will be organized at Sardar Balbeer Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium from 7am to 8am. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has been invited as Chief Guest for the event. Department Ministers, MLAs, higher officials, and prominent citizens of Raipur city will also be invited to attend the programme. Likewise, similar programmes will be held in district headquarters.
Like previous year, this year also yoga training programmes would be held at state and district-level for common people within given time-limit. The state level training session would be held on June 11. At district-level, the training session would be held from June 12-14. At block level, the rehearsal session would be held on June 15-16 and at Gram Panchayat level, the rehearsal session would be held on June 17-18. The meeting was attended by Secretary Social Works Mr. Imil Lakda, Director Social Welfares Mr. Chandrakant Uikey, Joint Secretary School Education Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Director Panchayat Department Mr. Ajitendra Shukla, and senior department officials along with other officials of Ayush Department were also present.
