Information technology major Infosys arranged to bring more than 200 of its employees and their families stranded in the US back to India by chartered aircraft due to the Kovid-19 epidemic and lockdown . Infosys assistant vice president (retail business, CPG and logistics) Sameer Gosavi said in Linkedin Post that the Infosys special aircraft flew relief from San Francisco to Bengaluru to bring hundreds of the company’s employees and their families to Bangalore. Infosys, however, did not comment on this. But sources said 206 people, including Infosys employees and their family members, have been brought back.
One person said that these people were trapped in the US due to the outbreak of the corona virus and then postpone international flights when lockdown was implemented. Among those recalled were employees working in the offices of some of the company’s customers and others went to meetings or events there.
The US is the largest vertical for the Indian information technology industry. Infosys accounted for more than 60% of North America’s business in the fourth quarter.
