MNRE issued new advisories against fake websites claiming registration under PPM-Kusum schemeJuly 10, 2020
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) today issued fresh advisories against fake websites claiming registration under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Energy Suraksha and Utthan Mahabhiyan (Pradhan Mantri-Kusum) scheme. It has recently been observed that two new websites have illegally claimed to be the registration portal for PM-Kusum scheme. The web addresses of the said websites are https://kusum-yojana.co.in/ and https://www.onlinekusumyojana.co.in/ . The naughty people behind these websites are deceiving the general public and misusing the data of common people through these fake portals. MNRE is taking action against those who operate these websites. All potential beneficiaries and the general public are advised by the Ministry to refrain from depositing money or providing data on these websites.
In addition, news portals are also advised to check the authenticity of websites that claim to be registration portals for government schemes before publishing on digital or print platforms.
It is noteworthy that administrative approval for MMRE-Kusum scheme was issued by MNRE on 08 March, 2019. Guidelines for the implementation of the scheme were issued on July 22, 2019. The scheme has provisions for installation of solar pumps, conversion of existing grid connected agricultural pumps to solar pumps and installation of grid connected renewable power plants. After the launch of the scheme, it has been observed that some websites have claimed to be the registration portal for PM-Kusum scheme. To protect the general public from any harm, MNRE had earlier issued advisories on March 18, 2019 and June 03, 2020. The beneficiaries and the general public were advised not to deposit registration fees on such websites and not to share their data.
All stakeholders are informed by the Ministry that the PM-Kusum scheme is being implemented through the implementing agencies in the respective states. Details of these agencies are available on MNRE website www.mnre.gov.in. MNRE does not register beneficiaries under the scheme through any of its websites and hence any portal claiming to be the registration portal of MNRE for this scheme is definitely misleading and bogus. If a person sees a suspicious or fake website, he can report it to MNRE.
Information related to eligibility and implementation process for participation in the scheme is available on MNRE website www.mnre.gov.in. Interested persons can get information from MNRE website or call the helpline number 1800-180-3333 (toll free).
