‘Mohan Sarkar’ of Madhya Pradesh presented its second budget in the assembly on 12 March. Finance Minister Jagdish Deora, while presenting a budget of more than four lakh crores, kept the state’s economic development schemes. This budget has been prepared keeping in mind the women, farmers, youth and industrial development of the state.
Ladli sisters ‘Atal pension’
In this budget, it was announced to link the beneficiaries of Ladli Bahna Yojana with the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana. Along with this, a provision of fifty crore rupees was made in the pilgrimage scheme for the elders of the state, so that they can travel to various religious places.
Target to set up 10,000 new startups
The Finance Minister said that the budget of 2025-2026 has been increased by 15 percent to further strengthen the economy of Madhya Pradesh. The government aims to reach the state’s GDP up to 250 lakh crores. Several schemes were announced by the government to encourage industrial development and investment, in which a target was to set up 10,000 new startups under the Startup Policy 2025. In addition, industries will be given assistance of Rs 3,250 crore, which is Rs 551 crore more than the previous year. Under this, 39 new industrial areas will be developed in the state, which is expected to create more than three lakh employment.
Establishment of digital university
Digital University and National Defense University will be established for the youth of the state. In the next five years, industries will be given incentives worth about 30 thousand crores, which will promote investment in the state and also create employment opportunities. 22 new hostels will be built to improve the field of education, so that students of backward castes and scheduled tribes can get better education.
2000 crores for Kisan Crop Insurance Scheme
Several important announcements were made for farmers to strengthen the agricultural sector. Under the Pradhan Mantri Krishak Mitra Surya Yojana, a plan was made to connect farmers with solar energy. Apart from this, a assistance of Rs 2000 crore was announced for Kisan Crop Insurance Scheme, Rs 850 crore for procurement of paddy and Rs 447 crore to give the benefit of solar energy to farmers.
Home department budget of Rs 12,876 crore
The government also took major decisions in the field of transport and infrastructure. A provision of Rs 20 crore was made for providing cheap and accessible transport to rural citizens under the Chief Minister Sugam Transport Service. The Home Department was given a budget of Rs 12,876 crore, while a provision of Rs 794 crore was made for the jail department. A provision of Rs 7,132 crore was made for the food grain scheme and Rs 1,808 crore for the labor department. A provision of Rs 20.52 crore was made for the aspiration scheme and Rs 1,086 crore for backward classes and minority welfare.
50 students from tribal class studies abroad
Many important announcements were made in the budget, laying special emphasis on tribal development and education. A plan was made to send 50 students of Scheduled Tribal Classes for studies abroad. Special budget was allocated for rejuvenation of more than 11,300 tribal dominated villages. A provision of Rs 1,017 crore was made for CM Rise schools. At the same time, a provision of Rs 350 crore was made to construct Anganwadi centers across the state and improve their infrastructure.
The government also introduced special schemes for families living below the poverty line (BPL). A budget of Rs 1,086 crore was allocated for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare. In addition, more than 53,000 houses have been built for special backward castes and plans to build 22 new hostels.
