Life came to the feet of little SaraswatiJuly 6, 2020
Nothing is more important to parents than the health and safety of their offspring, but sometimes malnutrition makes children a victim for many reasons such as ignorance, poverty, lack of awareness. The Chief Minister’s Nutrition Campaign launched by the Chhattisgarh government from 02 October 2019 is proving to be a boon for such children. Under this campaign, the decisive step of liberating infants, adolescents, young women and women from malnutrition and anemia has received good response in the remote areas. Now the number of children coming from malnourished to normal state is increasing here.
One and a half year old daughter Saraswati, one and a half year old daughter of farmer couple Shri Raju Ram Korram and mother Smt. Sukaro Bai Markam, living in the border village of Bicha in Mardapal, a remote area of Kondagaon in tribal district, was under the grip of malnutrition due to lack of proper food. She was unable to walk even due to weakness due to malnutrition. On getting information about this, the local Anganwadi worker Ms. Rajbati Baghel and the Nodal of Suchitan Abhiyan, Mr. Prakash Bagde, made proper arrangements for the nutrition of the girl while keeping her under constant surveillance. He registered baby Saraswati and fed her with protein-rich nutritious food like eggs, gram, soyabean, Started providing fruits and other ingredients alternatively. Simultaneously Saraswati was sent to the Nutrition Rehabilitation Center in Kondagaon and as a result, positive changes started in her health. Now the little Saraswati is walking without any support. There is an increase in blood volume and weight in his body. Her health is constantly improving with proper care.
It is noteworthy that in the Nutrition Rehabilitation Center established in Kondagaon, arrangements have been made to keep malnourished infants of remote villages like Kadenar, Kudur, Karsing, Nugali. In addition to the treatment here, children are kept healthy until they are brought back to normal. Due to these efforts, the rate of malnutrition is rapidly declining.
