The IMD has released a weather advisory for August 31st, highlighting the likelihood of intense rainfall across several Indian regions. Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab in Northwest India are under a heavy rainfall alert. Maharashtra and Gujarat in West India are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall. Heavy showers are predicted for West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh in east and central India. Arunachal Pradesh in the Northeast will continue to experience heavy rainfall, while the region may also face thunderstorms and lightning in Assam, Meghalaya, and surrounding areas. Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana in South Peninsular India are also likely to see heavy rainfall. The monsoon trough’s current position influences the weather, extending through Bikaner, Ajmer, Guna, Damoh, Durg, Chandbali, and into the central Bay of Bengal.
