Abdul Ghani Bhat, the former chairman of the Hurriyat Conference, passed away at his residence in Sopore on Wednesday evening. Bhat, who was 90 years old, had been unwell for some time. His death has triggered an outpouring of grief from various political figures.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed his deep sorrow on social media, describing Bhat’s death as a significant personal loss. He stated he lost a dear friend and colleague, Professor Abdul Ghani Bhat. He added that Kashmir had lost an honest and visionary leader.
